This ancient remedy can help shorten the duration of a cold or flu or ward it off altogether. We usually take a teaspoon of elderberry syrup every 30 to 60 minutes until the sickness subsides. It can also be taken as a daily preventative during cold and flu season. This syrup must be kept in the fridge and should be consumed within 3 months. I make fresh batches every week.

 

Ingredients include elderberry, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and unpasteurized honey.
